Channel 4 Programme
Did anyone else see how to grow giant vegetables on TV tonight very entertaining and just goes to show the lengths some go to to be the best, I don't think i could get my other half out of bed at 4 o'clock in the morning to help deal with a infestation of red spider mite on me Parsnips, still he did get them to grow to well over 12 foot in length. Good luck to them all I say

No, I missed this programme, but as you say if something is that important to you, you wont let anything get in your way. And why should you as long as it doesnt harm anyone else. Very impressed with the blog, it looks much more professional than mine.
I caught the last 10 minutes. Peter Glazebrook won several classes at Malvern in the giant veg classes yesterday but the most amazing sight was a new european pumpkin record of 1300-odd pounds.
I'll be putting a pic of it on my blog in the next few days.
p.s. what's the weather like up there James? Me and a few pals coming to do some walking in November!
Pretty amazing weight for that pumpkin! The weather is great just at the moment but any thing might happen come November, if you meet a poor farmer on one of your walks say hello it might just be me.
Living up there? You're richer than all of us put together James!
Don't suppose you can spend scenery though eh? LOL
