As Things Stand

For the first time in ages I have had a few spare hours this weekend when I had hoped to get stuck in to some of those jobs in the garden that have needed doing, but unfortunately the weather has dashed all hopes of getting on with anything outside. Once I just carried on regardless of the weather, but I think I must be getting wiser or maybe just older that I am a bit more reluctant to get soaked to the skin. I have found away round not been able to be outside and have just ordered a new larger Greenhouse to keep dry in, so as soon as I get my old 8x6 taken down I will replace it with a new one 8x12 doubling my growing area plus it will be a foot taller, it's the same old story after about twelve months you realise you should always get the biggest one that you can first time but i never learn. Hopefully it should be up by the turn of the year the only thing that i have had to deal with are the Leek grass that i potted on from the head I was given so they are in a simple light box type arrangement in the garage I planted up 3 -40 module trays of them and in the main they seem to be growing quite nicely I have put them on heat and 12 hours a day of light just looking at them it seems they will need potting on in 2/3 weeks when i will just keep the strongest half and i plan to keep selecting them until I'm left with just 20 or 30. Last week Judy and I were down in Cambridge visiting our youngest Grandchild and as it is quite near Jimmy Docherty,s (Jimmys farm of the telly) at Ipswich I couldn't resist popping along to have a look round, well it's farming I suppose but not as i know it, still he giving it a good try and bringing in a fresh approach to farming and selling to customers, but i did think £20 for sausage and mash and a sausage roll plus 2 cups of tea was a bit steep
