Back in Business

Finally I have managed to get my computer back on line, and hey we are up and running just over a month it's taken with all the messing about, so fingers crossed things are looking up, the problem seemed to be via our Internet connection with Orange so now that we have dumped them and the odd tweak here and there and its job sorted. Hope every one had a happy Christmas and are ready for the new year I know we have / are, all the snow put paid to any travelling about, I even had to walk to work on the farm as the roads are so full of snow and ice that no vehicle could travel on the steep hills safely so the couple of miles walking has helped to walk off Christmas dinner, just keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is clear on second of January as I'm off to watch United play Everton in the third round of the Cup, it should be fun, I wonder who we draw in the next round, Manchester United at home would be tasty.

My new greenhouse arrived just before Christmas and I have been getting on with putting it together these last few days, it's been a bit nippy on the finger ends and as I have been working in snow 6" deep it has taken a bit longer than I had planned, still just about got it ready for glazing when the frost goes, hopefully before I go on holiday mid January, thought I had plenty of time to sort everything when we booked but I can see it is going to be a mad rush as usual One thing I did remember was to pay my N V S membership on time this year and as they now can accept payment online it was a lot less hassle, it seems decent value for all the information that you can pick up I might even be tempted to go and show at Harrogate next September or maybe I just had too much wine to drink and getting carried away. One thing that I have held back on this time is planting my shallots, last year I did them on the shortest day but it was cold then I remember and they just did nothing so I am going to leave them a couple of weeks and see if they get a quicker start.
